White is the new black!

Fashion outfit

Hello Beautiful!

When I was in college, I used to be known as the girl who always wore the white jeans. I had 3 pairs to be exact and wore them to death. At this point, I was the only one doing it and totally looked out of fashion.

Well now, it could be considered to be more of an epiphany.

Spring/Summer 2014 is bringing back white - and high street stores such as Topshop have gone wild for it.

Just the other day as I was walking past the Topshop in Nottingham and all the clothing that was displayed was white. I'm not going to lie, staring at it too long gave me a headache!

However, they have got a numerous amount of gorgeous items to satisfy your fashion needs.

For anyone who has ever seen Sex and the City 2, the overlay dress that SJP wear has always been a favourite of mine and when I saw that Topshop were selling a white dress in the same style, I was smittened.

I just love how the dress hangs, and for those who has a broader bottom half - the perfect solutions for creating an hourglass figure.

If you do find £38 a little bit too extreme for a dress, Primark are doing a very similar dress for £10. Bargain!

Since my college days, I have gone down a dress size and my precious jeans will not fit me! And so I have been looking for another pair to satisfy my craving.

These ankle grazers by BooHoo are absolutely gorgeous! And the split in the knee area is also a key trend (as seen on Kimmy K!).

At £25, they are very affordable and, as always, BooHoo offer a 10% discount for students.

I am in love with this kimono from New Look and think it would be a perfect addition to a festival wardrobe.

The crochet features make this kimono rather special - and is perfect for light coverage during the hot weather months. (Ok, a little bit of wishful thinking.)

I think this is a very affordable piece and New Look also offer a 10% discount for students.

And what about accessories? River Island are showcasing a huge amount of white bags this summer and this one is one of my favourites.

This bowler bag is just the right size for me as it can carry a few summer essentials like sunglasses, sun cream and a good ol' book!

And if your bag is on the heavy side, the strap will make life a lot more easier!

Is it summer yet?

Summer <3

Hello Beautiful!

With forecasters promising the hottest summer on record (please be true!) I have already begun the search for the perfect bikini and summer accessories. A little premature perhaps, but as some who loves nothing more than to soak up the sunshine and tan my body - I think its a necessity and definitely a little mood booster!

After browsing a few High Street stores and my favourite online shops, I have picked up on a few key trends to rock on your jollies; including eye-wear - which we all know is essential during the summer months.

Sunglasses

For many people (I know it is the case for me) only certain sunglasses suit certain shaped sunglasses. For example, I can happily rock a pair of aviators but look like a bug in over sized glasses. However, linking in with the sixties vibes that seem to be featuring all ore the high street are the round framed sunglasses. Yes, think John Lennon or nineties nostalgia - but they are super cute! And they can easily be pulled off. I love this pair of round sunglasses from BooHoo - and they are available in a range of different colours to help fit in with your wardrobe. Topshop and River Island also have a great variety of sunglasses in their store - but with a price range of £12-£20, BooHoo seems to be the more 'student friendly' option.

Swimwear

Linking back in with the sixties themes, a lot of stores are displaying bikinis with high waist bottoms. As a female with insecurities about her stomach, I find this a great thing and really believe it will encourage more self confidence for women who are scared to get into a bikini. Primark and River Island have a great selection of high waist bikinis - some even demonstrating a nautical theme. However, I love this from BooHoo. The print on the bikini reminds me a lot of the Aztec themes that have been popping up on the catwalk this s/s. The bikini is also reasonable affordable, making it an essential for your wardrobe.

If you are more body confident or want to add some flare and sass into your wardrobe, I would recommend taking a look at Missguided. Their swimwear offers sexy and stylish bikinis and beachwear to wear around the pool. My personal favourite is the tasseled bikini in a neon pink: I absolutely adore the colour of this! The brightness of it will definitely make you stand out from the crowd. However, if you are not a fan of the color - Missguided do a range of different colours to suit your mood. What I do love about this bikini is that if you teamed this up with a pair of acid-washed denim shorts - you could pull off a casual summer look.

Last year, the trend of realistic or animal faces was huge - and I can distinctly remember New Look selling a swimsuit with a huge lions face on it. This year, ASOS have brought back the trend and create this beautiful swimsuit with cutouts on either side. It is perfect for those who have issues with their bodies (although every body is beautiful ladies! flaunt it!) and I cannot get enough of the elephant print! I may even purchase this myself!

Beachwear/Pool-wear

Beachwear is a great way to make the transaction from hotel room to the beach or to the poolside. However, I am sick of seeing the same repetitive maxi dresses or short dresses and was looking for something a little bit different. After having a browse on ASOS, I came across this gorgeous outfit! This two piece has definitely ticked the boxes for uniqueness and still looking stylish. As we know, two pieces are hot right now and the cute print will definitely help you stand out from the crowd. At £40 for the complete outfit, it is a little steep - however, your student discount and/or other promotional codes.

Footwear

Now this next item really is a flashback of my childhood. My mum used to hate me wearing jelly shoes - but I couldn't help but think that they were cool! And I still have a little love for them. I agree that not everyone will like them - but I think that they are prefect for wearing around the pool. They are also pretty inexpensive - with New Look selling them for £10 (plus 10% student discount) and they come in a variety of colours. If you loved them as a kid, I would recommend picking up a pair asap.

I actually cannot wait to purchase these items and, hopefully, it will encourage the sun to make an appearance. Please?

How excited are you for summer 2014?

Is it Christmas yet?

I'm afraid I am one of those annoying people who loves nothing more than a good Christmas. The smell of spiced apple around the house, glistening lights around the city & in the streets, the taste of candy canes! I absolutely adore it!

With it being the beginning of November (Ok, so I'm a little keen!) and me already being in the festive spirit, I would like to give you a helping hand on what's on offer this year for Christmas Jumpers.

Ok, Christmas jumpers - you either love them or hate them. It could end up being the cheesiest item of clothing you know or one of your forgotten presents that Great Aunt Ruth got you. Like it or not, Xmas jumpers are hot this season & I am a firm lover of the festive pieces.

Dorothy Perkins
£28
For those who do not want a great big in-your-face piece, I recommend this stag jumper from Dorothy Perkins. Not only does it fit in with the monochrome theme we have been seeing all year, it is easily wearable and can be matched up with your favourite jeans & ankle boots. I love how it discretely shows your love for the festive season (Come on! Don't be a Scrooge!)

New Look
£17.99
I absolutely love this piece! Who can resist a super-cute robin hoodie?! Again, not in your face but still shows your love for the festive period. So if your more of a hoodie kinda chick then I would totally recommend this!

Topshop
£44
I'm a sucker for fluffy things when the weather starts to drop, and I find this jumper from Topshop an absolutely adorable piece. Although I find £44 quite steep for a jumper, I actually wouldn't mind paying out for this piece. I love how fluffy it looks - and the cute snowflake print is absolutely adorable!

BooHoo.com
£15
If you are looking for a cheap alternative, I always recommend Boohoo. They have their own collection of Christmas items at the moment, and I found this little cutie! Simple but to the point - a little gingerbread jumper available in red, black and green. I may have to purchase this! And with the store allowing student discount, I can use this to my advantage.

What are your thoughts on Christmas jumpers? Hit or miss?

You're gonna hear me roar!

Hello Beautiful!

As fitting as the latest single by Katy Perry - the big cat prints are making a return to the high street. Leopard and tiger prints are hot this Autumn and I seriously cannot get enough of this trend! (although I am still very faithful to the Tartan trend)

I find this trend very easy to wear - whether it be an oversize blazer or a sultry-but-sexy dress, anyone can pull off this trend. So here are a few of my favourite pieces that not only look great but have a nice looking price tag!

For those who are thinking of those cold winter days and are opting for a more reserved look, these smart looking trousers are perfect! Not only will you be bang on trend, these trousers are smart enough to pull off in the office. I have two set of these 'smart joggers' and I am totally in love with them, combining fashion with comfort.

Mango
£34.99
A classic. Leopard print is always timeless on a dress. The thing I like about this dress is that it combines sophistication with sexy - which makes this dress very easy to wear. I also love the fact that it's from BooHoo.com as I have noticed recently how the site is slowly showing more high qulaity products at an affordable price. I absolutely adore it!

Boohoo.com
£25
I'll be honest. I am not a huge fan of Topshop due to it's ridiculous price tag (I'm a bargain girl, what can I say?!) but I really do love this oversized coat! Although the print is very cartoonish, I love the vintage feel about the coat. If however, you would like something a little more realistic, I would recommend trying out your local vintage shop or in a charity shop as I have known of some beautiful pieces.

Topshop
 £89
I know leopard print is not everyone's cup of tea and many people relate leopard print coats to Pat Butcher, but I think that the print is very in the now and is always a timeless investment.

Will you be releasing your inner feline?

Clothes I am loving!

Hello Beautiful!

As a firm believer of fashion, I always seem to have items of clothings on my wishlist - even if I know I will never be able to afford them.

Being the beginning of Summer, I have a few summery pieces that I adore right now and that I am dying to pack into my wardrobe! See what you think:

Dolly V Neck Paisley Neon Kaftan Dress

In August, I'll be heading out to Turkey for 2 weeks of glorious sun and cocktails by the pool. This Kaftan is perfect for your holidays as you can look glamorous whilst hanging round the poolside. The Paisley print with hints of neon colouring makes it bang on trend, and at a fabulous price of £20, how can you not resist?

JENA WHITE PEPLUM DRESS IN WHITE
Pop Couture

Being inspired by the amazing Kate Thorne, I have been after a sexy yet sophisticated white dress that will be suitable for formal occasions and cocktail nights. And I think I have found the dress! This peplum dress with a silver belt is absolutely stunning! And I can just imagine teaming this dress up with my red Kurt Geigers. Bliss!

Influnence Blue Denim Style Lace Trim Playsuit
                     New Look

When it comes to playsuits, I love them to have a hint of vintage. This playsuits from New Look is absolutely adorable! The lacy trim and the collar is absolutely gorgeous, and would be perfect for festivals or a walk through the British countryside.

What are your favourite picks for summer?
