White is the new black!

Fashion outfit

Hello Beautiful!

When I was in college, I used to be known as the girl who always wore the white jeans. I had 3 pairs to be exact and wore them to death. At this point, I was the only one doing it and totally looked out of fashion.

Well now, it could be considered to be more of an epiphany.

Spring/Summer 2014 is bringing back white - and high street stores such as Topshop have gone wild for it.

Just the other day as I was walking past the Topshop in Nottingham and all the clothing that was displayed was white. I'm not going to lie, staring at it too long gave me a headache!

However, they have got a numerous amount of gorgeous items to satisfy your fashion needs.

For anyone who has ever seen Sex and the City 2, the overlay dress that SJP wear has always been a favourite of mine and when I saw that Topshop were selling a white dress in the same style, I was smittened.

I just love how the dress hangs, and for those who has a broader bottom half - the perfect solutions for creating an hourglass figure.

If you do find £38 a little bit too extreme for a dress, Primark are doing a very similar dress for £10. Bargain!

Since my college days, I have gone down a dress size and my precious jeans will not fit me! And so I have been looking for another pair to satisfy my craving.

These ankle grazers by BooHoo are absolutely gorgeous! And the split in the knee area is also a key trend (as seen on Kimmy K!).

At £25, they are very affordable and, as always, BooHoo offer a 10% discount for students.

I am in love with this kimono from New Look and think it would be a perfect addition to a festival wardrobe.

The crochet features make this kimono rather special - and is perfect for light coverage during the hot weather months. (Ok, a little bit of wishful thinking.)

I think this is a very affordable piece and New Look also offer a 10% discount for students.

And what about accessories? River Island are showcasing a huge amount of white bags this summer and this one is one of my favourites.

This bowler bag is just the right size for me as it can carry a few summer essentials like sunglasses, sun cream and a good ol' book!

And if your bag is on the heavy side, the strap will make life a lot more easier!

Statement Necklaces: Yay or Nay?

Hello Beautiful!

Accessories wise- this years biggest trend is most definitely the statement necklace. I'll admit it - when it comes to accessorising, I like to keep it clean and simple. But this is a trend that I love; being able to instantly change a plain, everyday outfit into something a bit more on trend.

Think of an outfit made up of a plain white shirt with your favourite jeans - without a necklace, its very casual and somewhat thrown together. However, wear an amazing gold chain and it's been upped to something with a little more zazz.

Retailer's Primark have an amazing selection of statement necklaces this season - one of them being this amazing tribal necklace. I think this screams holiday - the Aztec feel would be perfect teamed up with a black maxi/midi dress whilst you are enjoying your holidays. Whats more, Primark prides itself in it's affordability - meaning it won't hit the purse too hard if you purchase a few pieces.

After browsing on the ASOS website, I came across this beautiful necklace from New Look . The pastel  pink roped chain is beautiful, and is perfect for completing a pastel outfit or it can be teamed on an outfit similar to the one below. At £20, the necklace is a little bit steeped but because of it's versatility, I think it is well worth the investment.

Zara have a reputation for delievering amazing fashion pieces and have a  great selection of statement necklaces. This particular one was my favourite! The multi-gemmed piece would add some sass to any outfit or make a plain dress stand out from the crowd. The hints of pastel is also bang on trend.

I hope I inspire you to incorporate statement necklaces into your outfits.

Return of the denim skirt?

Hello beautiful!

Yes, another fashion post - I have got a few beauty bits to try out & review for you so expect some posts in the days to come!

As an observer of fashion, I have noticed another nineties flashback. It's back; the denim skirt has made a return to the fashion world.

To be honest, I have. It worn a denim skirt since I was about 12 & whenever I used to think of them, I would instantaneously think of middle aged teacher with the skirt at knees length.

However, after looking at a few looks and a change in the hideous length, the skirt has grown on me.

This acid wash pencil skirt from New Look would be my perfect go-to denim skirt. It is just the right length and really reminds me of my childhood days; with the acid wash adding some flare & bring this look to the present day. It could be teamed up with a cute pair of flat ankle boots and a floral shirt.

What are your thoughts on denim skirts?
