Statement Necklaces: Yay or Nay?

Hello Beautiful!

Accessories wise- this years biggest trend is most definitely the statement necklace. I'll admit it - when it comes to accessorising, I like to keep it clean and simple. But this is a trend that I love; being able to instantly change a plain, everyday outfit into something a bit more on trend.

Think of an outfit made up of a plain white shirt with your favourite jeans - without a necklace, its very casual and somewhat thrown together. However, wear an amazing gold chain and it's been upped to something with a little more zazz.

Retailer's Primark have an amazing selection of statement necklaces this season - one of them being this amazing tribal necklace. I think this screams holiday - the Aztec feel would be perfect teamed up with a black maxi/midi dress whilst you are enjoying your holidays. Whats more, Primark prides itself in it's affordability - meaning it won't hit the purse too hard if you purchase a few pieces.

After browsing on the ASOS website, I came across this beautiful necklace from New Look . The pastel  pink roped chain is beautiful, and is perfect for completing a pastel outfit or it can be teamed on an outfit similar to the one below. At £20, the necklace is a little bit steeped but because of it's versatility, I think it is well worth the investment.

Zara have a reputation for delievering amazing fashion pieces and have a  great selection of statement necklaces. This particular one was my favourite! The multi-gemmed piece would add some sass to any outfit or make a plain dress stand out from the crowd. The hints of pastel is also bang on trend.

Tartan? Don't mind if I do!

Hello Beautiful!

Ok, I'm not going to lie. I think this is going to be my favourite trend this winter. Since watching Lorraine the other day, I have been obsessed with buying Tartan!

One of the hottest trends for winter, Tartan is all over the high street at the moment. I mean, I've already gone out and managed to buy myself a gorgeous tartan skirt!

Skirt - £10, Primark

From Primark, this is a shortish red skirt with the tartan print. It also has a patent leather waist, which I think also goes hand in hand with the punk/'grunge trend that's instore for winter.

This skirt was styled with black tights & a plain grey long-sleeved top, although a black long-sleeved top would work perfectly. I would accessories the outfit with either a gold cross or match up a Tartan scarf & black ankle boots.

Primark are also doing a few nice tartan items, such as a beautiful old school dress - which I'm completely in love with!

If you want a more laidback look, I would totally recommend this bomber jacket from BooHoo. It can be teamed up with a black high neck crop top, a black beanie hat & acid wash jeans (or shorts, if you're feeling brave!).

My thoughts: Primark

Hello Beautiful!

Primark - just like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. I can firmly say that I love the brand and have done since it came back to Derby in 2008.

I have been shopping here since I was a young teenager as my pocket money could only stretch so far. However, even now when I know I could go to clothing stores such as Topshop or River Island, I always find myself back browsing in the crowded but familiar Primark.

I will admit it, not all of Primark's clothing is brilliant, and because the brand is so popular you do find that many people may have the same item of clothing as you. However, I don't think this should make you turn away from the brand. The quality that you get for the price you pay (usually) is brilliant! About 45% of my wardrobe consists of Primark clothing.

So here's a few ways in which I wear 'Primarni' clothing!

I adore this skirt! whenever I wear this two-toned skirt, I am instantly whisked away on a sun-filled holiday. For me, the skirt fits perfectly above my hips and isn't too tight when I decide to eat. The top, is also something I love - and for £4, it didn't burn a hole in my pocket. This white lacy crop top really goes with the skirt, and creates a casual/formal look.

Everyone I know at the moment loves swallows, and this charming top was a steal at £12! The sheer blouse with swallow detailing is perfect to formalises a pair of high waisted jeans or to team up with a black pencil skirt.

This is my most recent buy from the brand, however it is currently in the wash! I love pinafores at the moment, and this one (which cost me £12) is perfect for my more laid back, casual summer day look. I teamed this up with my white crop top, brown brogues and black bowler hat (not from Primark).

When it comes to Primark, to find the best items you should look around. I usually take about an hour just looking around to see every item - yes, I'm obsessed! But it's my thing.

I love Primark now, and I probably will forever. If you haven't tried shopping at Primark, I think you should! just shame that they're not online!
