What came in the post this week ...

Hello Lovelies!

If you live in the UK, you will know that we received a foot of snow over the last couple of weeks, leading to all sorts of disruptions. This means that I didn't have some of my stuff delivered :( *sigh*

BUT I am going to show you two products that did get delivered and maybe a lil review!

Macadamia Oil Healing Treatment:

If you have read my blog before, you will know that I LOVE this brand for my hair. It actually does wonders for the structure of your hair, it really makes me soft, silky and full of health. However, it really isn't cheap - at £26.95 a bottle I cannot justify buying it. With this being said, the site Buyapowa has allowed me to obtain a bottle for just a measly £12.95 (which included P+P) which I am so thankful though! The way BuyaPowa works is that the more people that buy a product, the lower the price! So check out their website as they always do high end stuff!

March 2013 Glossybox

My first ever Glossybox! I've wanted to try this for a while now & I couldnt resisit the temptation any longer!

I have only tried one of the products so far and that has been the Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush and I really like this product. It is a moisturising lip stain and it is cruelty free - which is really good! I'll be writing a review on the rest as soon as I try them out.

Outfit of the day: 90s Nostalgia

Hello Beautifuls!

I'm planning to do a few posts over the weekend as I have unfortunatley been neglecting my blog (boohoo!)

SO I'm going to start with an outfit of the day post!

Outfit: Hat - ARK, Black long-sleeved crop top - Primak, Tie dye shredded jeans - Bershka, White Converse - Schuh

After attending the Ark sale in Leeds yesterday, I couldn't resist checking out my all time favourite clothes shop - Primark (you either love it or hate it) and I ended up buying a striped dress and 3 crop tops - with this being one of them. This look really reminds me of 80s/90s fashion - and with 90s nostalgia being a key trend this summer, I wanted to work out a casual outfit which will still be bang on trend.

DIY Hair Mask No2

Hello Beautifuls!

If anyone personally know me, they know I do ALOT with my hair. From going dark to blonde to platinum to dark brunette, I have experienced every hair disaster possible.

Recently, my hair gave me a wake up call. I suffered for severe hair loss caused by Tresemme Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner, and it really got me thinking:- what am I putting in my hair?

So it has been my mission to find the best products for my hair to regain my hairs true potential. And so, I bring you my homemade hair mask.

Ingredients

  • 1 raw egg
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • a plastic bag
  • a clip
After alot of research (and alot of stalking of Lush!) I have found the 4 perfect ingredients to indulge my hair. Before this mask, my hair was brittle, dry and needed some TLC and my Aussie 3 minute miracle wasnt cutting it for me. So, why these ingredients? the egg provides protein for the hair, honey is great for putting shine back in the hair, coconut oil is one of the only oils that can get into the cuticles of your hair and helps with brittle end and olive oil makes your hair extra soft and is brilliant for your scalp.

  1. Put the bottle/tub of coconut oil in a bowl/sink full of hot water. Coconut oil is a solid at room temperature and we need this as a liquid.
  2. crack one egg into a bowl (not the one with the coconut oil) then add 2 tablespoons of each oils - and then the honey.
  3. Whisk up the ingredients to make sure all the oil is evenly distributed.
  4. You may want gloves for this: put the mixture onto dry hair. Make sure it is evenly distributed.
  5. Place your hair into a plastic bag and use a clip to secure.
  6. Wait for at least an hour (you can even sleep in it)
  7. thoroughly wash your hair with a gently shampoo. I used Johnsons baby shampoo and followed it with my Pantene repair and protect conditioner. Wash thoroughly & towel dry.
  8. Let your hair air dry unless your in a hurry, use a hairdryer on cool temp.
  9. Use any protecting oil such as the mythic oil & the macadamia healing oil.
And Ta Dah! fabulous hair in a flash!

I would recommend doing this weekly :)

Lush Review: The Dragon's Egg

Hello Beauties!

I hope you've had a fabulous week! I have officially broke up from uni for 2 weeks! So I will be putting up more content and I have lots of reviews to do for you!

Looking outside the window today, all I can see is cold & white - which makes me want to hibernate in my fluffy dressing gown.

However, I have been desperate to try this bath bomb - the aroma has been filling up my room which is really nice & made me want to try it even more!

The Dragon's egg is one of the most popular bath bombs that Lush do, the Dragon's Egg has a very citrus-infused smell which is really powerful - which I don't mind at all.

The Dragon's Egg

As you can see from the photo, the bath bomb is mostly white with hints of colour - which is said to be the bath bombs 'surprises'. The bath bomb took about 3-5 minutes to properly dissolve and here is a picture of the bath bomb fizzling away and what the bath looked like.

How pretty does this look?

This is the bath bomb nearly half way fizzled - you can see confetti bits, so many pretty colours.

 The end product

Although you cannot see it in the photo, the bath had loads of silver and gold glitter - like the shiny treasure that a dragon may keep. The bath smelt so good and I believe that it was the lemon oil which contributed to this. The bath bomb did make my skin really soft HOWEVER I would not recommend this if you have a skin condition such as eczema because it really irritated my arms :(

What's your favourite bath bomb?

PayDay Haul - Lush & Rimmel

Hello my Darlings!

Today, after 2 hours subbing my next assignment & a lovely meal at Pizza Hut with the beautiful Stephanie Mulholland (thoughtsofawannabejournalist.com) I decided to spend some of my well earned wages.

My first pit stop was Lush, because I wanted to see if I could get a sample of the hair moisturiser H'suan Wen Hua. H'suan Wen Hua, to me seems to me, to be the ultimate hair mask. It contains eggs: which are good for restructuring your hair and putting protein back in your hair,  Balsamic Vinegar: which is great for adding shine to your hair and organic bananas: which have been used due to their moisturising qualities. i cannot wait to try this mask & I shall be doing a review on it as soon as I try it out.

I also brought two products: The Pink 'Fun' and a Dragon's Egg Ball Ballistic. The pink 'fun' is basically like play dough - but you can use this play dough to wash your hair, shower, wash your hands & to play with. how diverse is that! It also smells amazing - sweet like candies.

The Dragon's Egg is one of the larger ball ballistics that Lush do - and it wasn't badly priced at £3.20. It smells absolutely gorgeous with hints of citrus and Lemon Oil. After reading many reviews, I have heard that it has lots of confetti and other surprises, which I cannot wait to try!

After this, I then ventured to Superdrug for a nosey at the make up deals. I noticed that Rimmel have a 3 for 2 on all cosmetics. Yes, I am a sucker for deals.

I decided to treat myself to 3 nail polishes. The first nail polish I got was from the Metal Rush collection and the shade I got was 60 Royal Blue - which is a lovely Harlequin polish, which changes colour. My second polish is from the 60 Second Collection and is a lovely pale coral colour called 415 Instyle Coral and I think that the colour is perfect for a down-to-earth look & for summer. The last polish I brought was from the Cocktail Colour in a Flash collection and is called 140 Hawaiian Punch. This is a really lovely glittery red colour, which reminds me of the 80's/90's for some reason - meaning its bang on trend.

What do you like to spend your money on at Pay Day?

Guess what arrived this weekend ....

YAYAYAYAY!

Ahem, excuse my excitement. After a gruelling week at university - being surrounded by deadlines, missing the boyfriend & my family due to staying at my grandmas I wasn't in the best of moods. However, I got home and saw I had post - which had been opened by my littlest sister.

And this is what it was! 2 beautiful tickets to see Mrs Carter! I am so stoked to see her in April - and see her perform her greatest tunes. I know for sure the atmosphere is going to be immense. Getting all excited thinking about it! :D

My Birthday Wishlist

Hello Beautiful!

It's my birthday on the 31st March and this year, Its on Easter - which probably means I'll be fobbed off with Easter eggs as birthday presents *sign*

However, I am going to reveal my wish list - which consists of things I'll never be able to afford & things that I hope to get! Enjoy guys!

1. A pair of Jeffrey Campbell's

Aaa, Jeffrey Campbell - How I love thee! The Alexander McQueen of the shoe world. I already have a fake  pair of the studded Litas, which I absolutely adore! I would like a flat pair & these are so nice!  The silver studs in the shapes of stars and skulls really give the shoe a McQueen edge! I found a pair of these babies on the T K Maxx website, so I'm sure there will be a pair instore. Price: £49.99 [I think]

2. Lush Snow Fairy shower gel

It has finally happened. I have ran out of the most gorgeous smelling shower gel I have ever had. And yes, I'm upset. This will probably mean that I'll have to result in buying the shower gel on eBay, I just get a little bit paranoid when I buy my hygiene essensials from there as you never know what they have done to it!
Price: £5.00 - £17

3. Macadamia Oil Healing Oil (bit of a mouthful there!)

I am OBSESSED witht this! it makes my hair unbelieveably soft and I really think that it 'fixes' my hair. The Macadamia collection really is a miracle to hair as the oil can penetrate the hairs cuticle and make your hair unbelievably shiny. The catch? Its expensive. And i'm a commuting student.
Price: £30 for a decent sized bottle.

4.  A Ragdoll Kitten

Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with cats! I absolutely adore them & I cannot resisit a fluffy kitten! I mean, look at those eyes! :3 in reality, I already have a gorgeous kitty - My Cookie <3

How beautiful is she?

5. Tickets to see The Lawson play

Probably my favourite boy band of all time. Sorry Busted & McFly! I love how there songs tell a stroy & there is so much meaning behing it! And there voices are divine. Making my heart melt!

6. Money

Money doesn't make the world go round, but it does help! I'm going to the Ark Clearance sale with my little sister and a bit of spending money wouldnt go a miss!

7. Adore Your Couture Items

How cute are these items? Adore Your Couture are a small company that customise accessories such as phone cases, sunglasses and most recently bikinis and shorts, which I cannot wait to purchase! I really want to get the hair brush and a pair of spikey shorts from the brand - fingers crossed! Oh, and the 'bad' ring!

8. Just by Just Cavalli

This is probably top of my birthdat list. The smell of this is absolutely beautiful! definitly a scent I would wear!

This is all I can think of so far! If I think of anything else, Ill add it on!

What are on your wish list at the moment?

T Shirt review - Dead Legacy

I love T shirts. Who doesn't? But I love T shirts with women on it - There's nothing like a sexy female on your chest to keep you motivated ay? Just kidding.

I don't know why I like it, probably due to the fact that I envy the woman or just think they're totally hot.

Whilst searching the web, I came across the mens clothing brand Dead Legacy, who specialise in creating there own style, and not to follow the recent trends. This I really like about the brand as you wont see another T Shirt like it & I can pretend to be a total hipster in them.

Not only that, but the brand is involved with the Luey Jacob Sharp Foundation which helps families who have suffered with gastroschisis.

Anyway, I came across this gorgeous T shirt:

Now I know some people hate women with tattoos, but I absolutely love this! and the tattoo is absolutely gorgeous.

As soon as it arrived in my post, I couldn't resist to put it on! and I am happy to say that I LOVE IT!! although the top is a little bit smaller than what I would normally go for, I love the new t shirt feeling. The quality of the print is really good, which is great to hear as it means it will last ages.

I also got the 'Dead Legacy' band, which I believe you get with every purchase:

All pictures are curtosy of Dead Legacy as my Tee is currently in the wash!

But seriously, check out there other designs for males & females! click here!

Ark Clearance Sale

Hello Beautifuls!

I hope you are all well, sorry for the lack of posts - some many deadlines at uni that I won't bore you with the details!

As you know, I went to the Ark clearance sale a few weeks back (again, sorry!) and I thought it was about time I did a post on it!

The warehouse clearance is located just off the Leeds United stadium & took literally a few minutes to walk there. As soon as we got in, there was a buzz of excitement as rack upon rack was filled up of amazing clothes, luckily all sorted out into size order so it was easy to see where you needed clothes. I spent a total of £54, which doesn't seem alot as Ark clothing is rather expensive!

But, you didn't see the deals. Some of the deals included 3 dresses for £20, leggings (and disco pants) for £4 & £5 bags! all brand new! And I managed to but 6 dresses, a shirt, gold disco pants & a pair of shorts for my little sis. For £54! bargain! Here are some of the items I brought!

EEEK! I love these! SO beautiful & I cannot WAIT to wear them on nights out! And do you know how much I saved? £198! I was absolutely flabbergastered!

Gutted you missed the clearance? Have no fear! Ark are holding another one at the same unit on the 29-30th of March & promise to have better bargains!

I'll see you there ;)

Lipstick review - 17 & Rimmel

I adore lipsticks. I used to be more of a lipgloss girl when I was younger, but through the years I have developed an obsession with lipsticks, lip stains, lip pens! everything that makes my lips POP!

One Friday, after my Politics seminars, I decided to do a usual browse through boots and discovered that there was a 'buy one get one half price' on all 17 products. Not only that, but I had a voucher for triple points on all 17 products. Now, I think it was due to the fact that they had 'revamped' the brand.

The first lipstick that I brought is, well, more of a lipgloss that a lipstick. The Mirror Shine lipstick boasts to be a lipgloss as a stick & is quite literally what it says on the tube! I picked up this beautiful shade 'Shouty'

I really like this shade as I think pink/coral tones really suits my skin & lipglosses are simple and easy to wear. Plus, the lipstick contains a mirror so it's easy to use on the go!

The second & third lipstick are from the Supreme Shine range. I believe that the range is relatively new & I quite like the shiny, metallic packaging.
Although you cannot really see it on the pictures, the lipsticks give a really good coverage & are so bright and eye-catching, which I adore!

My fourth and final lipstick is from the Lasting Fix range - which gives away its most useful factor in the title!

Aaa, more pink lipstick to add to my collection! Although it isn't as bright, I consider it to be one of my more 'formal' lipsticks - suitable for any occasion!

Now, the Rimmel lipglosses! I've always loved the very British brand! and the Kate Moss red lipstick will probably always be my all time favourite so when my friend mentioned the new lipglosses, I knew temptation would over rule me!

The pink shade is called 'Apocalips', and the red 'Big Bang'. I adore both of these shades of lipgloss & they last so long! I couldn't believe it! and they are very similar to a lip stain - which I like!

Girls love shoes, diamonds & puppies. But to me, lipsticks are a girls best friend

Confessions of a Shopaholic - Missguided Dress

I have a confession to make.

I am a fashion hoarder.

Just kidding! But I do think I'm beginning to have a problem.

I was watching Geordie Shore Thursday night after I missed it on Tuesday, and I noticed that the busty red-headed Holly Hagan was wearing a Missguided dress. This one to be exact:

Catarina Lace & Leather Skater Dress - £29.99

I just love this dress! So lady-like & classy with an edgy twist of a leather skirt. The leather is bang on trend, meaning that you will not only look fabulous in the dress!

And whats better? until tomorrow night, they are holding FREE next day delievery! & offer student discount, how cool is that!?

Go & find the dress on the webiste Here

Happy Shopping!

T X Maxx: my new bag!

I love T K Maxx, but some people really do not like it - which I find a bit odd. Why wouldn't you like current designer things for a fraction of the price?

Yesterday, I went to the Kingsway T K Maxx with my lovely grandma to pass the time. As you know, I am a bugger for bargains & I couldn't resist this little beauty!

The leopard print Fiorelli purse only cost me £15, instead of the full priced £65. The bag fits A4 folders, which will be useful as I could use it for university.

I also picked up some of The Jelly Bean Factory jelly beans for Ryan, as he is completely obsessed with these beans!

I love the bag, and as I am growing up, I feel like a primark bag won't satisfy my growing taste.

Do you shop at T K Maxx?
